Norwegian film wins honour at AFI festival

’Kissed by Winter’ won the top jury prize in the international feature film competition for best film at this year’s AFI (American Film Institute) Film Fest in Los Angeles.

17/11/2005 :: The film is Sara Johnsen’s debut as a director. The film is said to be a beautiful love story which develops in freezing circumstances- with loss, accidents, depression and quilt as underlining themes.

- We made a film about human experiences, told in a brutal, honest and not very glamorous way. It is not a beautiful fairytale, but it tells a story of sorrow and pain in a way everyone can understand, said the main character in the film, Annika Hallin.

The film festival is held over 10 days in November and it is now in its 19th year.
